Salt
Water Aquariums
When we talk about Salt water Aquariums, we usually mean beautiful,
exotic under water scenes with live fish and non-living coral decorations.
Most people want a Salt Water Fish Aquarium because:
- The aquarium décor is exotic, evoking images of diving
in crystal clear tropical waters.
- The fish are brilliantly colored.
- The fish come in a wide variety of unusual shapes.
- The combination of exotic scene and brilliant fish makes for
a more captivating scene than with fresh water.
- Really large systems are possible. Currently
our largest holds 1,500 gallons and is 40 feet long.
- Normal service is twice a month.
The
salt water fish aquarium requires a more sophisticated filtration
system than for fresh water. Salt water fish aquariums are more
expensive than fresh and require time for the filtration system
to mature to the point where it can take care of the waste products
from a tank full of fish. So a few fish are added to start
and more are added as the filtration system can support the increased
bio-load.
